997TT PDK in Car & Driver

The latest issue (April 2010) has a comparison test between the ZR1 and the new 997TT (3.8L 500hp) with PDK and Sport Chrono. The 997TT ran 0-60 in 2.9s, 0-100 in 6.8s, 0-150 in 16.2s and an 11.0 @ 128mph in the 1/4 mile. The ZR1 test #'s were from a previous test where it did 0-60 in 3.4s, 0-100 in 7.6s, 0-150 in 16.4s and an 11.5 @ 128mph in the 1/4 mile.

Now the new Turbo S is coming out with a Turbo S model with 530hp..

An extra $30K is a bit pricey...but maybe in a few years these will be nice to pick up used.

The ZR1 is only a set of tires away from handily walking away from the 997TT in a drag race. If you noticed the lap times from VIR... the ZR1 beats everything even on stock tires.

Granted its a different car and a tough decision if forced to choose between the two for purchase.

Wow! That's awesome. But I've seen stock ZR1s on stock tires run 10.8ish @ 132ish. Takes a real driver though lol

I thought it was interesting the 997 was faster in the 1/4 but the ZR1 had a faster lap at Leguna Seca.

Not surprising... a Cayman S had a similar lap time to the 911.

I just thought it was funny the American car had a faster time around a road course, and the German car had a faster 1/4 time. The tables have turned ^_^

Not really... Germans have typically been faster stock. The aftermarket is what skews the perception.
